This year we will be celebrating International Children’s day with some organized activities. The celebration will take place at the Montclair Civic Bldg. located at 6820 East 12th Avenue Denver, CO 80220 between the hours of 2-5PM. TACSCO will provide tea and soft drinks. Please bring your favorite cookies and/or desserts to share.

Yilbasi ve Kurban Bayrami Kutlamasi

Like last year as Tacsco we will celebrate Yilbasi and Kurban Bayrami together.
It will be held on 12/31/2007 at Sheriton at Tech Center. We will serve home cooked Turkish dinner, organized by Zubeyde Acar. There will be also Turkish music by a Turkish DJ.

Republic Ball
| Details: |
Our main event of the year, Republic Ball in going to be on October 26th, Sunday at the Mount Vernon Country Club in Golden. Since it is on a Sunday we will start the event early, at 5:30PM and end early as well.
We have a very exciting event program this year. Our keynote speaker at the Republic Ball will be Mike Coffman, current Colorado Secretary of State. He is also running for US Congress from the 6th District in Colorado and heavily favored to win this fall. We will also have our folk dancing group performing dances from different regions of Turkey. Additionally, there will be three musicians from Turkey. They are on a small tour and will be playing in Dallas, Houston and Chicago as well. As we have stated in our previous newsletter, our association was founded 25 years ago in September. We will thank our past presidents and founders at the event as well.
Please invite your friends, colleagues and neighbors to our event. We need to show our community enthusiasm to our keynote speaker. Just contact us if you need any printed invitations. We have them available for distribution. You can also become a sponsor for ruffle prizes or donate extra money to subsidize students or people in need.

Gathering with Los Angeles Consul general Mr. Hakan Tekin
| Details: |
Los Angeles Consul general Mr. Hakan Tekin will be
visiting Colorado on 15-16 October, 2009.
He will have a lecture at the University of Boulder Political Science department on October 15th. He would like to get together with TACSCO members on October 16th.
The time and the place for the meeting have not been decided yet. We will let you know in our next newsletter.

Ramadan Bayrami Celebration

TACSCO has arranged a dinner and dance party to
celebrate “Ramazan Bayrami”.
The party will take place on the first day of the Bayram on September 20, 2009 at the Aurora Association of Realtors building from 5PM until 10PM. The address for the venue is 14201 E. Evans
Drive, Aurora, CO 80014. Well known DJ of San
Fransisco DJ Aykut will be with us that night with his music.
I am sure we will have a memorable night of music and good food. There will be a charge of $25 per person to cover our cost. I am sure you will attend to show your support for your TACSCO. |
